Marlee's Cupcakery & Bakery!

An adorable new bakery opened up in the same plaza where my husband manages an Italian restaurant, and of course I had to check it out. The decor is cute, and the baked goods are delish - but knowing this area and market well, I do not believe this concept will last too long in its current location, unfortunately!

They serve high tea on the weekends, and although it was a tad on the sweet side, it was very cute and fun!

Louie Bossi!

Louis Bossi is a fun new Italian restaurant that recently opened here in Boca. The Las Olas location has done very well over the years, and I hear a third expansion is in the works for Delray.

To be honest, we found the food a tad overpriced and over salty. We also tasted about half the menu - no small feat! My husband and I, accompanied by another good couple friends of ours, went to celebrate hubs' birthday early.

Rose All Day!

My girlfriend and I recently attended a local jewelry store's event, "Rose All Day!" I was a smidge apprehensive mostly because I do not like rose, however this proved me wrong and I ended up finding a rose I really enjoyed!

The joke was on me - the brand of rose I so thoroughly enjoyed is made by none other than Joe Wagner, Napa's wunderkind and part of the Wagner legacy and brand (think Meiomi Pinot Noir, Caymus Cabernet, etc). I actually met Joe (and was completely starstruck) at a wine dinner last April at the Boca Resort and he totally hooked it up for my family and I to visit Caymus in Napa the following month during our family vacation.

Entertaining at home!

Whether I invite my girls over for some kid-free wine time, or invite my mom friends over with their kiddos, I love to make fun appetizers, or elaborate displays. As much as I love going out and discovering new restaurants, cafes and bars, I love entertaining at home just as much!

I found an awesome clear dessert tier stand and used it to display some different appetizers for a recent wine happy hour I threw for some friends.

For the playdate, I got some awesome frozen appetizers at Whole Foods, like the kale bears below, mini quiches, and pizza pockets.

Can't have a playdate without some vino! (Or champagne!)

Bento 4

I am a huge fan of the bento box-style lunch box, as evidenced by several previous posts. I recently enrolled my toddler in preschool, and figured I would continue the tradition with her!

La Ferme!

My husband and I are huge foodies, and love trying out new restaurants and bars. We went for a dinner at a local French restaurant, La Ferme and had a great time!

Cocktails: Dirty Martini and Moscow Mule
Appetizers: Steak tartare (filet mignon), crab cake in Dijon sauce, grilled octopus
Entrees: Sea scallops with corn risotto, steak chimichurri

DaVinci's 2

DaVinci's is a lovely local Italian restaurant here, and I have been a fan of their happy hour / lunch specials for years. HH Menu!

One of my girlfriends and I went for a belated birthday lunch and had a wonderful time. Their calamari with marinara, agnolotti stuffed with beef short ribs in a mascarpone cream sauce, garganelli in vodka sauce, and tiramisu were absolutely delicious! All that is missing is a nice glass of red ;)

Cooper's Hawk 3.0!

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of the Cooper's Hawk restaurants. Half wine tasting bar, half delicious restaurant - what's not to love?

My husband and I went with another couple, great friends of ours, for a belated birthday celebration and we had a great time. The Brussels sprouts appetizer with mint is the perfect way to start off the night, along with a wine sampling of their Cabernets and Merlots.

For entrees we had the shrimp and scallop risotto, along with lobster ravioli. The tiramisu was the best sweet ending to the meal!
